Job Summary:
The Academic Affairs & Research Intern for the Department of Academic Affairs, Student Affairs and Equity (AASAE) will work with the Assistant Vice President for Academic Affairs & Research. This part-time internship has a pay rate of $17 per hour. Academic credit may also be available.
Essential Functions:
- Compiling documents and data provided by the UMass Chief Research Officer's (CRO) into a repository that they can access to share resources that can be helpful across the campuses.
- Working with data related to research on our campuses to create spreadsheets with tables and graphs that can help us see areas of opportunity.
- Posting AVP conference notes to be shared among the AASAE team.
- Testing parts of the AASEA portal as it comes online and collecting survey data from portal users to help guide our development of it.
- Helping to organize archived program/degree changes into a repository that would be searchable.
- Other duties and responsibilities as assigned.
Minimum Qualifications (Knowledge, Skills, Abilities, Education, Experience):
- Current UMass student enrolled in an undergraduate or graduate program of study.
- GPA 3.0 or higher.
- Creative, eager to learn, motivated, and willing to take the initiative on assigned projects/tasks.
- Reliable and detail-oriented with a strong ability to multitask, stay organized, and meet deadlines.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Must be well organized, detail-oriented, and possess good follow-up skills.
- Ability to maintain confidentiality and exercise discretion when interacting with staff.
- Must be proficient in Microsoft Office (including Excel, Word, and PowerPoint).
- Must be able to carry out some graphical analysis of data when using Excel.
Working Conditions:
Hybrid work environment. Primarily located at the UMass President’s Office located at One Beacon Street, Boston, MA with remote work.
