Job Summary:

The University Information Technology Services (UITS) department of the University of Massachusetts is seeking a student currently enrolled at one of the five UMass campuses for a Digital Experience Internship to become part of an dynamic team of technology professionals supporting the institution's mission. The Internship will begin in Summer 2024 and UMass students must be enrolled in classes for Fall 2024 or Summer 2024.

We embrace a culture of continuous learning by fostering a growth mindset and working together to solve hard business and technology challenges, with strong leadership and coordination from the Chief Information Officer (CIO) and direct report units.

Essential Functions:

The Digital Experience Intern has the following responsibilities:

  • Assist in product management/administration for our suite of collaboration tools (Salesforce, Dropbox, Slack, Atlassian etc.)
  • Analyze business requirements and develop solutions to business problems
  • Work with stakeholders to gather requirements and define the scope of projects
  • Gathering, refining and documenting requirements and user stories
  • Creating and maintaining software documentation
  • Assist in functional and accessibility testing
  • Create and maintain business process models
  • Assist with other projects as needed

Minimum Qualifications (Knowledge, Skills, Abilities, Education, Experience):

  • Currently enrolled UMass student who is enrolled in an undergraduate or graduate program of study
  • GPA of 3.0 or higher
  • Curious, motivated and willingness to learn new technologies and skills

Preferred Qualifications (Knowledge, Skills, Abilities, Education, Experience):

  • Knowledge of HTML/CSS
  • Knowledge of Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.1 A and AA requirements.
  • Experience with version control systems such as GitHub

Working Conditions:

Any offers of an internship within the President’s Office is specifically conditioned upon the potential candidate consenting to and successfully completing a background review.

Additional Details:

Hourly rate: $17.00 per hour.
