The History Department of the University of Massachusetts Amherst invites applications for a tenure-system appointment expected to start on September 1, 2025, at the level of Assistant Professor in the History of the Modern Middle East. Areas of specialization are open. The successful candidate will be expected to maintain an active research agenda, and teach four courses per academic year, including high-enrollment introductory surveys and undergraduate and graduate seminars in their research fields, and will contribute to the service needs of the department, college, and university.

Assistant Athletic Director - Marketing, Sales & Fan Experience oversees the athletic promotions, sales, fan experience, and marketing unit including ensuring the maintenance and adherence to the philosophies and regulations of the Conference, NCAA, and University and compliance with all federal, state, university laws. This position creates individual ticket programs and promotions, group sales strategies, advertising campaigns and community programs designed to increase attendance and revenue at UMass Athletic events with a specific emphasis on football, men’s basketball, women’s basketball, hockey and men’s lacrosse.  The Assistant AD enhances and directs game presentations at all athletic events and is responsible for all community outreach activities for UMass Athletics.

Assist in creation of individual ticket programs and promotions, advertising campaigns and community programs designed to increase attendance and revenue at UMass athletic events with a specific emphasis on football, men’s basketball, women’s basketball, ice hockey and men’s lacrosse.  Enhance and direct game presentations at all athletic events. Assist all community outreach activities for UMass Athletics, and create initiatives with the focus on group ticket sales as part of maximizing overall ticket revenues. Responsible for ensuring that all sales initiatives maintain and adhere to the philosophies and regulations of the Conference, NCAA, University, State, and federal entities.
