Job Summary:

The UMass President’s Office (UMPO) Fellowship is a career-development opportunity for upcoming or recent University of Massachusetts graduates. The UMPO fellowship is a rotational program that allows graduates to curate their career paths while working for UMass. UMPO fellows will gain practical experience supporting various departments, which may include but not be limited to the Executive Office, Administration & Finance, University Information Technology Services, General Counsel, Academic Affairs, Internal Audit, and Communications.

Essential Functions:

  • The fellows will be assigned to several different projects that may directly support any of the UMPO departments.  Ideally, fellows will rotate through several departments to gain exposure to multiple career disciplines.
  • Fellowship duties will generally include but will not be limited to the functions of project management, policy research, data analytics, marketing, IT, and business process assessment and improvement. Other cross-functional projects may involve working with multiple UMPO departments.

Other Functions:

  • The Assistant Vice President for Innovation and Operational Services, or his designee, will oversee the fellowship program. However, project content supervision will be provided by the department that is leading a specific project.
  • Other duties and responsibilities as required.

Minimum Qualifications (Knowledge, Skills, Abilities, Education, Experience):

  • Applicants must have graduated from a UMass campus in the past 12 months or be on track to have graduated by the date the fellowship is scheduled to begin.
  • Preference will be given to applicants who have participated in an internship with the UMass President’s Office in the twenty-four months prior to the date of application.
  • Requires either a one full-year commitment or a two full-year commitment.

Additional Details:

Salary $55,000.  Review of candidates to begin in February/March of 2025 with an expected hire date of July 2025.
