General Summary:
Reporting to the Associate Director of ORSP Post Award Support Services, the Sponsored Research Administrator will coordinate all externally funded award actions (new awards, modifications and connected non-financial actions) to ensure consistent, compliant, and timely system setups and sponsor communications on behalf of the University by collaborating with Preaward, Postaward, Department Research Administrators and Principal Investigators. This position is the foundation for ensuring accurate data is entered into our systems to allow for reliable reporting on proposals and awards for senior leadership, deans, chairs and PIs.
Examples of Duties:
•Interface and coordinate with preaward staff to review award action documentation for completeness and consistency.
•Process award actions in all research administration systems both internal and external (i.e. new award set-ups, NCEs, amendments).
•Oversee the accurate transfer of system data from Preaward (Kuali) to Postaward (PeopleSoft) occurs. Review daily error reports and reconcile all actions with errors and verify integration in PS Grants Module. Troubleshoot award action issues with GCAs, FRAs, eRA and DRAs as needed.
•Communicate with research support team and PIs to inform them of the award setup and to assist in coordination of any needed updates or changes and plan for kick-off meetings.
•Manage award actions log on the OneDrive.
•Attend weekly Pre/Post Set-up meetings to discuss business processes, changes and specific issues.
•Support eRA with integration testing and updates to the module configurations.
•Maintain an updated version of the Kuali Awards Guide pursuant to changes in the business process.
•Kuali and PeopleSoft quality control; run regular reports (award setup and daily user queries) to identify inconsistencies and/or errors and resolve.
•Generate regular reports for central ORSP and DRA teams for workload identification and management purposes.
•Assist in internal and external data reporting needs for the university.
•Other duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
•Bachelor’s Degree in Business, Public Administration, Finance or a closely related field relevant to post-award grants administration, Master’s Degree preferred, with three-five (3-5) years of progressive and successful experience in research administration in an academic or equivalent setting is required.
•Experience in grants, research, compliance and/or financial administration is required.
•Proven advanced skills in Excel is preferred.
•Demonstrated performance in establishing and maintaining productive and collaborative relationships with a full range of internal and external constituencies is necessary.
•Proven detail-oriented work style in collaboration with effective written and verbal communication skills is necessary.
