      Communications Manager (Hybrid) in UMass Amherst

      Reporting to the Manning College of Information and Computer Sciences' (CICS) Associate Director of Communications, the Communications Manager is responsible for the conceptualization, creation, production, editing, and marketing of content for a variety of platforms. The Communications Manager will be part of a small team of communications professionals who support the college in the achievement of its vision, mission, and strategic goals, with an emphasis on raising the visibility of the college’s faculty and research activities and developing and sustaining an effective, unified message.

    • Associate Lecturer in UMass Boston

      The Department of Biology at the University of Massachusetts Boston seeks an associate lecturer to teach Anatomy and Physiology starting September 1, 2025. The associate lecturer will teach a lecture section of Anatomy and Physiology of about 200 students and/or another lecture section with 100 students. The course is primarily for Nursing majors. The successful candidate will also supervise lab instructors for the course and will be expected to follow standard departmental policies related to instruction and course coordination in multi-section classes.

    • Assistant Director- Financial Aid Counselor in UMass Boston

      The Assistant Director, Counselor is responsible for communicating and disseminating financial aid information, policies and procedures to graduate and undergraduate students and families through in-person interviews, media and phone consultations; and is responsible for keeping staff abreast of policy and regulatory changes affecting student eligibility and ensuring consistency in applying policies throughout the Financial Aid Services organization. The role of counselor requires a thorough knowledge of all federal and state regulations and institutional policies governing the financial aid programs. The Assistant Director, Counselor acts independently in counseling students, awarding aid and adjusting aid packages; and is responsible for the financial aid application verification process. The incumbent uses professional judgment, in accordance with federal regulations, to adjust financial aid awards due to unique family situations, student enrollment plans and in coordination of external aid awards. In addition, the Assistant Director, Counselor is responsible for managing federal, state and/or institutional financial aid programs as assigned; including but not limited to awarding, disbursing, reconciling cash receipts and expenditures and monthly/annual reconciliations.

    • Slavery North Research Fellow in UMass Amherst

      Slavery North fellowships are open to regional, national, and international candidates enrolled in MA/MFA and PhD programs in the Humanities and Fine Arts fields with a thesis or dissertation component. Fellows must actively participate in both the scholarly and social environment of the Slavery North. With the support of Slavery North leadership, they will conduct their independent research and create original research/works in one or more of the five mandate areas of Slavery North which include: 1) Canadian Slavery, (2) slavery in the US North, (3) the comparative study of slavery in Canada, the US North, and other northern or temperate regions, (4) the study of the inter-connectedness of slavery in Canada and the US North with Caribbean Slavery, and (5) Black-Indigenous relations in Canadian Slavery or US North Slavery. Furthermore, the research must center on the enslaved and/or adopt an anti-colonial, de-colonial, post-colonial, and/or anti-racist methodology/approach which challenges the nature of European and Euro-American imperialism and colonialism and interrogates the racist logic of the institution of Transatlantic Slavery.

    • Visiting (Open Rank) Research Professor in UMass Amherst

      The Visiting (Open Rank) Research Professor for Slavery North will actively participate in both the scholarly and social environment of the center.
