    • Assistant Director- Financial Aid Counselor in UMass Boston

      The Assistant Director, Counselor is responsible for communicating and disseminating financial aid information, policies and procedures to graduate and undergraduate students and families through in-person interviews, media and phone consultations; and is responsible for keeping staff abreast of policy and regulatory changes affecting student eligibility and ensuring consistency in applying policies throughout the Financial Aid Services organization. The role of counselor requires a thorough knowledge of all federal and state regulations and institutional policies governing the financial aid programs. The incumbent uses professional judgment, in accordance with federal regulations, to adjust financial aid awards due to unique family situations, student enrollment plans and in coordination of external aid awards. In addition, the Assistant Director, Counselor is responsible for managing federal, state and/or institutional financial aid programs as assigned; including but not limited to awarding, disbursing, reconciling cash receipts and expenditures and monthly/annual reconciliations.

      Slavery North fellowships are open to regional, national, and international candidates enrolled in MA/MFA and PhD programs in the Humanities and Fine Arts fields with a thesis or dissertation component. Furthermore, the research must center on the enslaved and/or adopt an anti-colonial, de-colonial, post-colonial, and/or anti-racist methodology/approach which challenges the nature of European and Euro-American imperialism and colonialism and interrogates the racist logic of the institution of Transatlantic Slavery.

      The Dispatcher II position is an entry level, uniformed non-sworn, support position for the University Police Department. Under general supervision of the Dispatch Supervisor or the shift commander, the Dispatcher II will perform a variety of specialized support duties the Police Communication Center. Support duties may include: Operating a centralized computer aided dispatch system (CAD) to dispatch non-emergency and 911 calls for service to the campus community. This includes receiving, prioritizing, and transmitting first notification of calls for service for police, fire, and medical assistance from the campus community.
