Job Summary:
The Associate Full Stack Developer will use a human-centered design approach to develop, administer and support automation and digital transformation efforts. The position requires a consultative mindset focused on adaptive fit-for-purpose approaches rather than one-size-fits-all methodology. Our team’s goal is to make it easier to get work done at UMass and to continuously learn new technologies and approaches for creating new capabilities. In this role, you will work as part of an agile scrum team and actively partner with business stakeholders, subject matter experts, application teams and architects on initiatives that support UITS' strategic goals centered on using intelligent automation tools to help improve operational efficiency, enhance capacity utilization and improve stakeholder experiences across the President’s Office.
Essential Functions:
- Assist with the support the development, configuration, enhancement, and integration for a suite of business applications focused on digital marketing, employee success, and student experience: DropBox, Slack, Enterprise Content Management Platform (Document Imaging), Drupal, Dell Boomi, FormAssembly, Salesforce, Heroku and more
- Contribute to automation projects from start to finish, leading user-centered design initiatives including practice and process design sprints to define and explore process gaps, prototyping, and stakeholder reviews to improve the customer experience
- Determine automation viability by analyzing complexity and technological feasibility and understand the overall value of an automation idea and different value drivers like efficiency, risk, improved productivity etc.
- Configure new RPA processes and objects using design principles that are efficient, well structured, maintainable and easy to understand using UiPath
- Design RPA libraries and reusable components
- Contribute delivery practices such as continuous integration, continuous delivery, and test-driven development
- Understand, Analyze and Design automation solutions
- Create and collaborate on Process Definition/Solution Design and support documentation
- Creating and executing test scenarios
- Collaborate with other technology groups (application and product managers, infrastructure and operations, security and identity management, architecture, project management office, data and analytics, etc.) on various projects and services
- Implement improvement opportunities, ensuring alignment to measurable business outcomes

Minimum Qualifications (Knowledge, Skills, Abilities, Education, Experience):
- Bachelor’s Degree with an emphasis in computer science, information systems or related field or equivalent experience.
- 0 - 2 years of experience with application development, configuration, integration and support.
- Experience with RESTful APIs and data integration platforms.
- Working knowledge of existing web frameworks such as React, NodeJS, Bootstrap or other modern frameworks preferred.
- Experience with Agile development principles.
- Experience in requirement gathering and analysis.
- Experience working with a version control system such as Github or Bitbucket
- Familiarity with at least one Relational Database Management System (e.g. Oracle, MySQL, PostgreSQL, SQL Server, etc.).
- Familiarity with multiple operating systems (Mac OSX, Windows, LINUX, etc.).
- Experience with cloud platforms such as Azure and AWS.
- Knowledge of Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.1 A and AA requirements.
- Experience applying WAI-ARIA authoring guidelines and best practices.
- Cross-functional collaboration, facilitation, and consultative skills.
- Demonstrated ability to communicate thoughtfully and effectively with colleagues, partners, and stakeholders in person, virtually and in writing.
- Ability to continuously learn new capabilities and apply new ideas and technologies to meet evolving needs.
Preferred Qualifications (Knowledge, Skills, Abilities, Education, Experience):
- Experience with DevOps/DevSecOps practices and tools.
- Experience with Artificial Intelligence/Machine Learning concepts.
- Knowledge of Robotic Process Automation platforms and UiPath REFramework template.
Working Conditions:
- This role will have a hybrid work model with periodic travel to all UMass campuses.
- Periodic weekend and evening work for system maintenance, upgrades, and project implementations to minimize the impact on the campus business calendar and student administration operations.
Additional Details:
Salary commensurate with experience up to $70,000.
