Part-Time Lecturer Positions
The Department of Community Nursing invites individuals interested in Part-time Lecturer (PTL) opportunities at the undergraduate and graduate level. Opportunities are available for clinical and didactic assignments. Part-time faculty are expected to engage in course-based continuous quality improvement/assessment per college processes and be committed to rapid pedagogical and other academic process changes as driven by environmental conditions.
Undergraduate Level Teaching:
Opportunities primarily include clinical agency, clinical skills laboratory, and/or simulation instruction in community, psychiatric mental-health, pediatric, and women’s and maternal child health pre-licensure and accelerated BS clinical courses. Didactic teaching opportunities are available in the RNBS track and possibly other tracks.
Requirements:
Preferred individuals for clinical education assignments will have a Master’s Degree in Nursing from an accredited program, recent clinical practice experience, and clinical education experience in higher education or a healthcare institution. Individuals with a Bachelor’s degree in nursing must matriculate into a Master’s Program within 1 year or obtain NLN Clinical Nurse Educator certification within one year to be considered for re-hire per the Massachusetts regulation.
Individuals for didactic assignments will have a graduate degree in Nursing from a regionally accredited program and recent relevant practice experience. Preferred individuals will have teaching experience in higher education or a healthcare institution.
Graduate Level Teaching:
Individuals will have the appropriate level of graduate degree in nursing from an accredited program or its equivalent, as required for the teaching assignment. Individuals will have teaching experience in higher education or a healthcare institution and recent practice experience relevant to the teaching assignment.
All individuals will have an active RN license in Massachusetts or eligibility for RN licensure in MA.
Additional Information:
One of five colleges at the university, The College of Nursing and Health Sciences has an enrollment of over 700 nursing students, including traditional, accelerated, and RN-BS undergraduates as well as graduate students in Master’s, DNP, and PhD programs. All programs are fully accredited by the CCNE through 2026.
