Job Summary:

The Senior Technical Functional Analyst is primarily responsible for the support of the campus business operations through centrally administered software systems. The position requires a broad application of principles, theories and concepts of enterprise software and a working knowledge of related fields.  In particular the position has a strong technical component focused on Reporting, alerts, workflow, dashboards and distribution of information and data. The Analyst participates in the development of functional specifications, delivers on project tasks, ensures the accuracy of application systems documentation and assists in the development of end user training.

Essential Functions

Primary Support for:

  • Managing Calendar Year End and Tax Processing
  • Report Manager and BI Publisher (XML)
  • PS Query Training and user question
  • Assisting the Payroll Module Lead


  • Technical support for traditional reporting (SQR) as well as Business Intelligence reporting needs across all modules
  • Primary support for other PeopleSoft modules
    • Familiarity with business processes and procedures as they relate to all areas of the HR Application.
    • Analyze and trouble shoot operational issues.
    • Ability to create and execute test scenarios.
    • Ensure system remains current and compliant through patches, fixes and enhancements.
    • Closely collaborate with developers and technical teammates
    • Work with management to improve operational standards and procedures.
  • Closely collaborate with developers and technical teammates
  • Works on new and evolving technologies for the HR Application.
  • Collaborate with campus constituents to:
    • Translate functional business requirements into design criteria
    • Prioritize work to meet campus expectations and deadlines 
    • Document functional specifications
  • Conducts or coordinates user acceptance, performance stress, regression and integration testing; makes changes and corrections as needed

 Other Functions:

  • Participates in structured walk-throughs and other activities to review systems and provide training and support.
  • Knowledge of other modules such as HR, Benefits, Payroll, Commitment Accounting and Time & Labor, with an emphasis on the data structures.

 Minimum Qualifications (Knowledge, Skills, Abilities, Education, Experience):

  • Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent with emphasis in information systems.
  • 5-7 years experience in a business office or general Human Resource systems setting with demonstrated progressive experience in developing, enhancing and supporting departmental applications. 
  • 5-7 years of PeopleSoft experience is required with deep functional skills in one or more modules.  Experience with application processes, eg. sql/query.
  • 5-7 years experience in project life cycle phases is required; analysis and design, testing, data conversion, change management.
  • Expert in Excel (this means proficient in using complex formulas, as well as macro and other advanced features).  
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills.
  • Solid interpersonal skills with ability to work well with people at many levels of the organization.
  • Highly motivated and able to work effectively under minimal supervision.
  • Ability to multi-task.
  • Experience utilizing critical thinking and problem solving skills to achieve results.

Preferred Qualifications (Knowledge, Skills, Abilities, Education, Experience):

  • Demonstrated leadership skills in a large complex environment.
  • Exceptional skills in providing quality customer service to multiple organizations within the enterprise.
  • Experience in a Higher Education environment 

Working Conditions:

· This is a full-time benefited position;

· No relocation assistance provided;

· The salary is up to $115,000.00
